The training days are organised to provide an opportunity for members to:

• meet up for a social day out

• have access to the full range of equipment and facilities required to train (or test if needed) 

• take full advantage of the support and help of friends

• take the chance to train in a different location than their dog is accustomed

• share ideas and training methods

Our Chairman Lynne Watkins has made Breed History with her Hungarian Wire Haired Visla STARSHOT KAELEN WITH SZIKRAS T.D.ex. by making him up to be a Working Trials Champion. By April 2022 he had achieved a third Challenge Certificate in the Tracking Dog Stake.

Each day begins with tracking and searching, as the fields must be unspoiled for these exercises. Once they are finished then it doesn’t matter who wanders around which fields so then we are able to use the same land for training sendaways, jumps and the range of ‘control’ exercises.

Mock trial sit stay

Members are asked to think about the things they need particular help with and bring a couple of ideas to help get focussed. We always seem to cover a bit of everything and make a point of helping individuals that bring particular problems that they need help with.

We have a very relaxed and friendly regular group of members that attend so the time flies  and we have a lot of fun.
